For a period of time, my grandson, Royce, had been waking up upset in the middle of the night. Sure, there could have been many reasons behind it – one was a bear. Of course, everyone was concerned about it.
I told my daughter one day – ‘shut that closet door.’ She looked at me like what? Who knows what she really thought. Contrary to what one believes, she and I do our best to psychically stay out of one another’s business. Backstory: I recall Spirit coming out of my closet door when I was a youngster. I saw black figures walking around my room. My parents said no I did not – that it must have been a dream. Thankfully, when it came to be my turn as a parent, we decided that what our daughter was seeing and experiencing were truth. And so, my daughter, Sydney, got busy changing the energy in Royce’s room and ultimately her home. She bought new bed coverings, the ones he picked out. She painted the walls yellow, orange and red -- again, colors he picked out. One day, when she had just finished the yellow and the orange, I said to Royce that he should see his new walls. He ran to the door, which was closed, and then went into to his sister’s room. He loudly said, ‘Where are you?’ I said to my daughter, ‘Did you hear that? There’s something else going on here.’ It’s when my daughter decided to do a house cleansing. She had been thinking about it for a period of time. When she was at her office in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp, she picked up the supplies – sage, bells and candles. She used gold candles because she views the color as true love. At home, Sydney opened the doors and windows. She used bells and gave a tiny bell to Royce. He still has it. Bells break up energy, so it helps keep little ones safe who aren’t really used to protecting themselves. She also used blue sage to clear the house and then rosemary sage to invite family to stay. Yes, this may seem a little exaggerated for a little guy who will be turning 3 at the end of July. It is not. This child is gifted beyond his years; it is quite remarkable the words and sentences that come out of his mouth. Yes, I am his grandmother and would think this. I have heard people comment as we are walking by. He is a little man already. So far, it seems to have worked. No more issues. If there are, my daughter knows what to do. I was not physically there for the house cleansing. You can bet your last dollar that my energy was definitely there. A house cleansing always does a home good. Just the other day when I was sitting with my daughter and granddaughter in the playroom, my daughter noticed a ladybug, which told us that yes, good energy resides here. What a formidable sign! Blessings of Peace and Love!

I have this fabulous large round carpet in the front room near my reading chairs. It’s an abstract with various shades of turquoise and purple with a couple of splats of bright gold/orange. I found it online while on vacation several years ago.
It arrived shortly after I got home. I had to wait for my floors to completely dry before I put it down. The floors were a bright blue, Autumn Sky, – they glowed for months. It wasn’t too long, and I noticed a woman’s face with a scarf covering her head. It reminded me of a crone, although she is not ugly, but a cute little lady. I do believe she is a seer. I couldn’t wait to show my daughter. ‘Look, do you see it?’ She did and was a little spooked by it. I wondered if she was one of my guides helping to do readings. A few months later, I saw a gentleman come up behind her and to her side. He’s bald and has a mustache. He looks like he’s wearing an old-time suit. This time my daughter said she could not see him, or maybe she chose not to. About a month ago now I changed my front room around and had my daughter take the rug to her place, so it could be washed. Nothing odd happened at her place, but my son-in-law was ready to see it go. I drove around with it in my front seat for a while. I like the blue floors. Eventually, I brought it back in. Yes, the crone is still there. I feel like she could be a Sally or Betty. And the man is still there, too. I invited a friend in to take a look. He saw. In fact, he saw what he thought was one of his guides. The more I looked, the more appeared. Listen, I know my guides and yes, they have changed over time as I have grown. I pondered as I saw what looked like a Buddha. I did just add a large red Buddha statue and a Buddha head to my area. Everyone knows I’m a writer. I can think of lots of reasons as to why this is happening. It finally occurred to me that perhaps these could be the loved ones of those I’ve done readings for in the past, or even future readings. Wouldn’t that be wild? Or maybe, just maybe I should say a prayer to release these entities from my carpet. I would surely miss them. There’s a great energy in my place. I am a tiny bit partial. I’ll wait to see what else comes about. Every time I look something new appears. I have experienced quite a bit in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp since moving to Mayberry, not just in the place I’ve been residing in for nearly seven years, but in every place I have lived. When it comes to phenomena, something that is observed and cannot be explained, I love it! I wonder if one has to be a clairvoyant to see them. Again, welcome to Magic Carpet Ride. Blessings of Peace and Love P.S. By the way, those faces were not there when the rug first arrived. I would’ve notice that type of thing, pronto. The other day I took my grandson, Royce, for a walk near my home in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. We stopped in the restaurant/bar at Hotel Cassadaga in which in both places they know us. We stopped at one of the pianos and he respectfully and mindfully tapped each of the black keys all the way down and back.
Music to my ears! Backstory: We found that piano long ago. He barely stood equally to the keys the first time we stopped by. I so love that I am able to give my grandson real-life experiences with the help of community. To my surprise, one of the servers came to me and said my grandson is not allowed to play the piano. She was upset to have to say so. I said to her that he did no harm, and she said the piano had just been tuned. We took it in stride and continued on. Next, we made it to the waterfall’s fountain with large rocks near Spirit Pond. He wanted to get closer to the water, so we did. Off to the side were three people in their 20s playing brass bowls. Royce looked on, they noticed and invited us over. I was so pleased when they let him play the bowls, all four of them. Each time he struck one, he rejoiced in the sound and the vibration. He totally got into it. He struck the bowl and stood surreally in the moment. Bless my heart! When we finally walked away, I said, ‘There’s much more to music than just a piano.’ Backstory: Royce has always loved music. He plays with his musical toys at home – tambourine, flute, maracas, xylophone, etc. Even before that, once he learned to stand, he danced to the beat of music. Just the other day, he told me to turn up the music while cruising I-4. His favorite: Barbara Ann by the Beach Boys. LOL Have you listened to those lyrics? LOL We ended our walk at my apartment/office. He went to my Spirit trumpets and said, ‘I wanna play that.’ I chuckled and said those aren’t musical trumpets, baby. They are Spirit trumpets and used in seances. Thank goodness that was the end of that conversation. Later, I went to look up information about piano tuning. Once a reporter, always a reporter. I couldn’t help myself. I have seen musicians pound those keys over and over at the Hotel. I learned that it’s more likely that a piano needs tuning because of the temperature kept in the room rather than playing it. I thought about talking with the owner and now am feeling there’s really no point. That day I did notice a regular who has seen us many times at the piano. When the server informed me, he was no longer there. I really want to give him the name Richard – Dick for short. Oh, I guess I just did. LOL Seriously though, a huge lesson to me. You can only meet people where they are at. After talking it over with my daughter, I plan on getting my grandson a brass bowl for his 3rd birthday, maybe two. How ‘bout a keyboard? Perhaps, someday. Blessings of Peace and Love I’ve been toying with the idea of creating a Top 10 list as to why it is absolutely fabulous to reside in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp.
Backstory: I so loved the Top 10 with David Letterman. It’s really too bad that I cannot think of way to present it as he did. We shall start with Number 10. 10. The overall vibration of the grounds is phenomenal. Imagine Certified Mediums, Healers and Ordained Ministers meditating in their spaces here in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp on a daily basis since 1894. That’s bringing the Bling! 9. The Fairy Trail and Labyrinth on Chauncey Street bring the young at heart to the Spiritualist Camp. There are several fairies who keep the place looking fresh and kind to the youngsters. Both areas bring the energy of a little extra healing to those visiting, those looking to connect with lightheartedness and mindfulness, respectively. 8. The student program in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp is like no other. It takes three to four years to become a Certified Medium and/or Healer. There’s an intense curriculum and public demonstrations. Again, the venue is like no other. 7. Colby Memorial Temple, built around 1923, is where Sunday Service and Wednesday Night Message Service take place. In both venues, the continuity of the life is proven with message work – bringing Spirit loved ones through with evidence. There’s a hands-on healing portion to both services. There’s also a séance room that was built at the same time as the Temple. Again, used to prove the continuity of life. 6. The Bookstore/Welcome Center is an awesome place to find what you are looking for – books, crystals, sage, CDs, artwork, class and workshop flyers and the white board with names of Certified Camp Mediums and Healers who are available for walk-in appointments. . . And let’s not forget about the beautiful people who assist you with everything you are looking to get. 5. Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp’s best kept secret is Colby-Alderman Park, which is a good stones throw away, just around the corner and down the hill. The Camp donated the property and Volusia County created trails, a gazebo and 11 large signs that tell what was happening in the area when Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp came about in 1894. Volusia County and the Camp made it happen through an ECHO Grant. A definite must see! 4. My front porch with rocking chairs, table and iron chairs spray painted in the chakra colors, wind chimes, and loveseat rocking apparatus really brings a nice vibe to those who come for readings. Of course, having my daughter’s office next to mine really brings it home for me and everyone else who dares to enter (smile). 3. Spirit Pond and its latest point of interest – the large rocks and many waterfalls with several benches to sit (one in the shade) and relax into the energy that is Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. 2. It’s a public place, so people come here every single day for one reason or another – a Mediumistic reading, healing, attending workshops by the Camp’s certified teachers. Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp is a religious community. I AM here for the highest and best of all who come. 1. The quietude in what I like to call Mayberry is fabulous. You just can’t get it elsewhere. The Flip Side 10. Imagine residing with many Psychic Mediums. No matter how we try, everyone knows your business. 9. The Fairy Trail has attracted those who feel the need to do less than good rituals in the middle of the night. Fortunately, there are several who assist with removing the disturbances to include security. 8. The student program may break you from time to time, but it will definitely assist in your evolution. 7. Once in a blue moon, people have interrupted Sunday Service to the point of being shown the front door. 6. Outside Psychics and/or Mediums (i.e, Hotel Cassadaga as well as others in the area) leave their cards in the Bookstore/Welcome Center. Then there are those who depict themselves as being Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Mediums on Instagram, TikTok and other social media entities. Check the website, Cassadaga.org to be sure you are connecting with someone who truly is a trained Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Medium. 5. The road leading to Colby-Alderman Park has a sign that reads: ‘Dead End.’ It stops people from going to check out the park in which a couple of million dollars was spent to create. 4. My front porch: I have caught people pulling up chairs, breaking out lunch and enjoying my space. Wow, I live here. 3. People have decided to cleanse their bodies and beings with the water that flows from the fountains. 2. It’s a public place. Don’t call me or knock on my door in the middle of the night. 1. For the most part, Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp is peaceful. However, Hotel guests and others seem to think loud music, which can be heard down the streets at various times, is appropriate. It is not. On a side note: The other day a woman stood on top of a box on one of the corners to the entrance of Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp screaming to whomever would listen about how those who reside and come to visit are heathens. Puleeze! One of the longtime members said: ‘I would’ve printed out the Q & A section on Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp’s website and given it to her.’ Next time. Before passing judgement, be informed. Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp has many opportunities, at little or no cost, to investigate. Blessings of Peace and Love! You know I love music. I cannot tell you how many times I get into my car and listen to my thoughts. I run things over about situations that have occurred. Sometimes Spirit (God) will pop something into my head from years and years ago.
Does this happen to anyone else? Perhaps, some of those thoughts, also known as stored energies, are not for your highest and best. Sometimes, it is super hard not to allow those energies to come up. They just do. Why? Because we’re all on our journeys to grow, to become a better person, to evolve. How do we stop those energies from creeping in? We can write about them, which is clearing for the heart center or heart chakra. But we don’t want to live there. We can avoid situations that trigger us. We can see a therapist to assist – finding the right one isn’t always the easiest. Then there’s breathwork. Backstory: My first experience with a breathwork session was during a class with one of my master teachers. She took us on a journey, a journey to find out where we, each of us, came from. Guess what? I was in the stars – outer space. That just explained a lot for my regular readers. LOL Backstory: Still another time while in a mediumship student program, I worked the door at a breathwork workshop. It’s where I learned of one of my sexual abusers. Some people use alcohol or drugs to drown out the chaos. Self-medication is an easy way out, momentarily. I get it. I’ve been there and done that, more in my youth before I was even 18 and for years later. It’s not the answer. Listen, Spirit or God will never give you too much to handle. Sometimes you just have to take care of yourself and forget everything else. Take a step back. Allow people to do them. You do you. Know that you are NEVER alone. The good energies are around you, but you must be aware of the less than good energies, too – duality is in everything. Be mindful of your thoughts. You never know who is lurking around. Who or what are you allowing to enter your being, your doorway? Don’t let it stay. So maybe, just maybe it’s time to crank up those uplifting tunes while you’re in your vehicle. And sing along.
