This week’s class in my office at the Spiritualist Camp was on color. It’s not as simple as it sounds. First we took a look at the shades – red, green, blue; values – the range of the shade from sky blue to indigo; and the intensity. Next each shade of color was assigned meaning. For instance, red could be about passion or love depending on the value and intensity. We all know from physics 101 that everything is energy, which is in constant motion, constant change. In class, the final teaching on color was to feel the different vibrations of each color. We used blindfolds too.
Backstory: I went to Joann Fabrics last week to get various colored felt squares for the class project. I choose a dark green, light green, blue, a lighter blue, orange, yellow and red. As the woman was cutting a ½ a yard of each, another woman in line asked what I was making. I laughed inside for a couple of reasons – I’m not crafty, and let’s face it not many want to hear about Mediumship. I decided that I would tell the truth. It’s who I am. I said, ‘I’m a Medium in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp and I’m teaching a class about color.’ She said, ‘Oh.’ I replied: ‘Did you know that each color has its own vibration?’ I was pleased when she said, ‘They certainly do.’
Looking back through the years, it wasn’t something I didn’t readily do – share with someone about being a Medium. When my daughter was around 8 or 9, it became apparent that we weren’t going to be able to hide our little secret – ‘My daughter sees dead people’ – for very long. Our neighbor left this earth plane and we were invited to the funeral and graveside service. We dreaded going because our daughter would wander the cemetery talking to those who called. We came clean with the neighbor before we went to the service. He asked a lot of questions and we answered.
As a freelance writer for the Lake Edition of Orlando Sentinel, I thought it would be a good idea to write about a local Spiritualist minister. My editor relented after I pointed out that we needed to fair about covering all faiths. A few days after the column ran I met someone in the community who wanted to know if I believed in Palm Sunday. I thought it odd. Being point on, I asked, ‘Are you asking me if I believe in God?’ He was, so that was straightened out very quickly. And the list goes on of my ‘coming out’ as a Spiritualist Medium.
I found it refreshing when I heard the response, ‘They certainly do’ at the fabric store. I believe this world is awakening more and more to what we believe as Spiritualists and/or Metaphysicians.
I did a reading recently with a fella who spends several months at a time with an African tribe. After the reading, we chatted. I learned he helps those in the African tribe to build water lines to reach gardens and to build another church. One day he was resting on a hammock and heard a voice toward the trees. He looked over and saw Ascended Masters – Buddha, Jesus, St. Germain, Yogananda, Gaia, Rumi, Quan Yin, etc. He said they were all there, and he spoke with each of them. Next, he talked to me about his beliefs, which included we are just one of many galaxies, and that we received different parts of our beings from civilizations, such as our sight from Lemurians. And finally, he told me of an African young man he spends time with – a quadriplegic who can ascend at a whim. I am definitely intrigued by this information and want to learn more. The point of this BLOG is these African tribe people live a completely different life than we Americans do. I feel they are highly evolved, enlightened in a way that we could only hope to attain one day.
I do not watch news. I do not have a television. I choose not to partake, although I do watch a little Netflix before bed. I keep in touch with friends on Facebook, so I do get snippets of news. The latest I saw was an attorney was suing over a bad call by the refs during the Rams and Saints game, which also brings me to the thought of sports are organized. And why do we care? Is there even a comparison to having food to eat, or having a shelter to pray in to what team wins a game? Let that sink in for a minute. In most places of this world, we must make money to have a place to live, to pay for food to eat, to pay for transportation – you get my drift. These people in African tribes have a whole different view on life. I have to believe they are true to themselves because that’s all they have. They have their knowledge and work together as a team to survive. Again, they are enlightened beings. We could learn a lot from these people.
I do my best to walk my talk, to be true to my authentic self. I am grateful to have been self-employed as a writer for more than 20 years and now as a Medium for the past couple of years. I know what goes on in the world outside of the Spiritualist Camp, but I don’t have to live there. I will not invite the nonsense in. I wake up each morning and send healing to all situations in need. Do I really care who wins the Super Bowl? Maybe just for a moment. That passes.
Death is almost always a subject people don’t really want to talk about. It’s interesting because we’re all going to leave this earth plane sooner or later and go to the next realm of existence, a new beginning. I realized just the other day that I have become somewhat desensitized to the death. It’s not that I don’t care. On the contrary, I do so very much. But friends may not get it. Almost every day I come in contact with people who are looking to connect with deceased loved ones. It is a blessing that I am able to assist.
Looking back, when my father died in 2006, it was unbearable. I made myself sick over it for a better part of a year. At that point, I had been taking intuition development classes for a couple of years. I wasn’t giving readings on a professional level. I healed myself from that event. In 2018, my master teacher, friend, business partner and my daughter’s godmother left this plane after a 10 year fight with cancer. Yes, it hurt when she left, but I got to spend so much time with her when she was preparing to leave this plane. I laid next to her in bed and she told me that she had a dream, a vision, not long ago that she was standing at the gates, which were illumined. Bright light was everywhere. She said she felt like she wasn’t good enough to go through those gates. I thought about that and the next day I laid on her bed and said, ‘You have affected so many people on this plane as a nurse, as a performer on stage with more than 70 leads in musicals, as a healer to those who came to you as a massage therapist and as a teacher of intuition development to hundreds. You have left your mark. You made a difference. You are good enough.’ She said in voice that was barely audible, ‘Your words.’ When her husband and I left the room, I cried into his arms. I knew I was not to see her again on this earth plane.
Yes, I have finally allowed myself to see my father in Spirit. It took many years before I could do that. My friend, though, she’s around me all the time. I am thankful that I have this gift to help other people. People may perceive my view of death as insensitive. It is not. I would love to physically hug my dad or my friend again. Wouldn’t we all?
If you have a fear of death, make a decision to what your belief system is and go from there. The bottom line is we’re all here for a reason. I do believe it is to help others – the Golden Rule. Blessings of love and healing!
I love doing readings. I’m very passionate about it. The interesting thing about readings is the client/recipient almost always has something in common with the reader – the law of attraction. It seems to never fail. When I first became a certified medium in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp, I shared an office with my best cheerleader in the Camp, an elderly woman with her own church in a neighboring city. On one of my first days, I was sitting in her office on a Sunday morning before the regular activities. Two women made their way to me. They must have saw me go into the office. They came to the screen door and I invited them. After just a few minutes, I learned that they both had gone through breast cancer, and they were doing perfectly fine. I had just completed the first leg of my journey of breast cancer. My hair already started to grow back, so they couldn’t have known, although possibly on a soul level they did. I thought it was amazing that they were in my presence. I did give one of them a Spirit greeting at the Sunday Afternoon Message Service. That was nearly two years ago. Months after that a woman came to me for a reading. Most times after a reading the client and I chat for a bit. She had mentioned she had breast cancer and I told her I had too. She named her Orlando doctors, who were the same as mine. It wasn’t too long after that when I saw her in the Camp Bookstore. She said she had to go back for a revision, and that she had to choose another plastic surgeon because the initial one was no longer there. I had to choose another too because my construction was not complete. Guess what? We chose the same doctor. And finally Jan. 1, the Bookstore was closed, so there was a whiteboard at the front entrance. I went up there to sign in. There were two ladies sitting on the bench. They were waiting for a friend who was getting a reading across the street. We chatted for a few minutes and I went on my way. I could see their friend coming toward them as I walked away. The woman caught up with me and asked if I could do a 15 minute reading and how much I charged. I told her and then decided that I would do it for no charge. After the reading, she shared that she had procedure that included taking fat from her tummy to create breasts. Guess what? I had the same procedure one month after she did. Then there’s the countless women who had breast cancer that came in Spirit for loved ones. In addition, while I was going through my experience, which took about 2 ½ years to complete, I wrote newspaper stories on people who had breast cancer. You know, I thought I’d never talk about my experience publicly because people unintentionally have lower vibrational comments to share. What people do not get is that everything, and I mean everything is in Divine Order.
So I’m meditating today before my first appointment. Before mediating, I practiced speaking a guided meditation. On top of that I started my first eight-week class last Thursday evening. The classwork is based on my master teacher’s work. I took this coursework with her for at least five years. After that, I graduated and moved on to her higher level classes. So again, I was meditating today before my first appointment. And at the end of the meditation, my master teacher came in. And I said to her, ‘I love you, Mary Rose.’ Moments later I hear my client at the door with her friend who had made the appointment for her. I said, ‘You look familiar.’ She replied, ‘So do you. Have you eaten at Perkins in Mount Dora before?’ I said, ‘I have. I used to go with my friend, teacher and business partner all the time.’ She knew instantly who we were. I said, ‘My friend went to Spirit last year and I just saw her in my meditation.’
Isn’t it a small world? After the reading, we chatted for a bit. During this time the world got even smaller.
My client said, ‘I saw your sign walking up the road and realized that I had read your book The List. And it’s you.’
We must realize that although we are individuals, we are connected as one. What happens to us happens to everyone. Work on raising your vibration. When you do that, it affects the whole. Raising your vibration includes letting go of hate, anger, jealousy, envy, which are all lower vibrations. To assist in raising your vibration, create affirmations such as ‘I AM a Powerful Spiritual Being’ and ‘Everything is in Divine Order.’ I have said affirmations for years to help me realize who I AM and how I want to move forward in this chaotic world around us. Stop watching the news. The only benefit I can think of in doing so is to send healing to situations going on. You can do this when you awaken each day without tuning into the less than good news depicted to create fear or greed, also lower level vibrations. Lower vibrations are all around us. The way you can keep the vibrations away from you is to say the three ‘I AM’ Decrees from the Saint Germain Foundation daily. They include putting the White Light from within around your being; then the Blue Wall of Flame as added protection; and finally the Purple Flame throughout your being. Or stay away from situations that influence your being in a negative way. I leave this with Blessings of Peace and Love.
We all have intuitive gifts – clairvoyance (seeing), clairsentience (feeling), clairaudience (hearing), clairgustance (smelling and tasting) and claircognizance (knowing).
Let’s take a look at knowing. Have words just spilled out of your mouth and you’re not sure where they came from, but know it is truth? Yes, happens to me a lot. I’ve been sitting in intuition development classes since 2004. I have come to the conclusion the reason knowers know is because they have seen it before. A lot of us remember our dreams; even if we don’t consciously remember, they are embedded in our subconscious. Some dreams are about what we do in our day-to-day lives, things happening around us. Others are psychic dreams. Did you know that when we go to sleep our spirit/soul leaves our body and goes home? Have you dreamt of being in a house that you’re not sure of, but feels familiar? This is astral travelling. We all do it. It’s just trying to remember those experiences when we awaken. I do recall many of my astral travel experiences. I will share one of my firsts.
I dreamed for three nights in a week that I was looking in the window of an orange car that was traveling down a road. My hands were cupped as I peered inside. Since the car was moving, I believe I was flying. Inside, there were two in the front seat and two in the back seat, one in the back was dead because his arm was flung back like you see on TV. The car was finally parked next to brown house. The following week I was waiting to go into yoga class at a local gym. I struck up a conversation with a woman. She said they had finally caught the people who were involved in the death of her son 20 years ago in south Florida. At this point, I was not thinking of my dream. I announced who I was, a freelance writer for the Lake Edition of the Orlando Sentinel, and I thought her story would be great told. We decided to exchange phone numbers after class. During Savasana, corpse or resting pose, I saw the orange car drive by. Totally, blew me away. Afterward I asked if an orange car was involved. She said she thought it was a red car. By the time I got home, which was about 20 minutes, I had a message on the phone. It was the woman from yoga class wanting to know how I knew the car was orange. What to do? I finally called her and shared my dream. There were three people involved with her son’s murder. Some of his remains were found in a large field and the car was still parked next to a brown home. I was in awe and still am. This is just one my experiences.
I would love to hear your stories. Work with your guides or your source of all that is. Ask to remember your dreams when you awaken and then write them down with dates. Some of us are able to astral travel during meditation as well. Have no worries we all come back to our bodies. There’s an etheric cord that brings you back. It’s funny. I never saw this cord until I asked to see it. Very cool stuff. In Light and Love.
What exactly is a Spiritualist Medium? More than likely it is not depicted correctly on television, or at least it wasn’t before. I gave up watching television long ago, especially news. I did see the first 30 minutes or so of Long Island Medium. I’m like really? Who walks up to people and tells them that their grandmother is around them?
Here’s the jest of it. A Medium is someone who communicates with the so-called dead. A Medium is also a Psychic. A Psychic is “a person believed to have abilities, especially. involving a knowledge of the future, that cannot be explained by modern science,” according to one definition. Some Psychics claim to read the aura around the person or client. This could be true. However, it is not my experience at this point.
To break it down, gifts include clairvoyance (seeing), clairsentience (feeling), clairaudience (hearing), clairgustance (tasting and smelling) and claircognizance (knowing). Some people believe these are only Psychic gifts. They are not.
I see, feel, hear and know. First let me say that Spirit, which could be my guides who assist with readings and/or loved ones around clients, work with what the Medium knows; has learned or experienced their entire life. This sets a vocabulary. As a clairvoyant, Spirit shows me itself, either in my mind’s eye or as a white light with details such as hair, face and clothing. Spirit also shows me symbols, pretty much anything you can think of, so as to provide evidence of the Spirit around the client. This is Mediumship. I am not reading the aura around someone. Spirit shows me symbols. I am not telepathically picking up the information. We all have these gifts. When you have experiences, or maybe some of you already have, you will understand. Hope this helps.
The above is my current theory. Things change.
Blessings of Peace, Love and Light!
Yes, signs are all around us. It's our job to be aware of those signs and then act on those signs. My computer went on the fritz for a couple of days. I have to say I handled it pretty well considering I'm a writer and am on the computer for a good portion of the day. One of my biggest lessons is/was to keep my emotions in check when things aren't going well. I remained calm. I had my phone to look up computer repair. I'm a great problem solver, plus if I don't have my computer I'm not writing my book. I called a computer guy in Deltona and took my laptop to him. He said this, that and the other thing, so I decided to go see about a new computer at Best Buy -- checkout my options. Just three years had went by since my last purchase -- screens were smaller and pricier. I went back to the man in Deltona. By the time I got back there, he had gotten three other computers to repair. There's my sign. Keep looking. I found another person in DeLand and when I got there, I found that he had been in the student program in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp years ago, something we had in common. What are the chances of that? It made it easy to make the decision. I was in the right place. In the midst of all of this, one of my regular animal totems, the sandhill crane, appeared to me in at least four places on my journey. I loved it. I knew the universe was there with me on my side, getting me through what I thought to be a major struggle. These are times made for spiritual growth to occur or not. How we react to situations are crucial. I kept mostly calm and got my computer back after two full days without. It had been a long, hard two days, There's was a bit of struggle still this morning with the computer. It was a gentle reminder of how and where I need to spend my time. This is the first I have taken the time to write. I still don't have Microsoft Word back up and guess what? It's not the end of the world. I needed a break, obviously.
Some signs may not be so easy to recognize, or maybe you just don't know where to find these signs. Animals are signs. When you see an animal, take note of it and look it up later. Perhaps, an owl has crossed your path. Search owl animal totem and read a few of the results. Owl animal totem is about seeing things that others do not. It is also about wisdom, and/or deception, either with others or of self. Very powerful information. Once you become accustomed to the awareness of animals around you and their meanings, start taking note of what you were thinking about when you saw that animal. See how it fits into your life. It could be a sign. This way of thinking brings you more into the universe as a whole. Everything is connected. Blessings!
So I hope all of you have been meditating. There are many reasons to do so – grow your gifts, grow spiritually, heal, send healing, meet your guides, work with your guides and grow your vocabulary. Be sure to set an intention as to why you are meditating. Meeting your guides is very interesting work. At first I sensed them around me. I didn’t know names or gender. One teacher thought it was important to know their names. I did not and still do not agree with that notion. In some instances we meet our guides in dreams and don’t even realize it. One time I had a “dream” with four people sitting on a bench. I felt the gentleman was in charge, all were elderly. A day or two later it struck me that they were my guides. Have you had dreams with reoccurring people in them who you don’t know, but they feel familiar? They may be your guides. Be sure to acknowledge them. The gatekeeper is similar to the guardian angel in that they are with you from the day you are born to the day you leave this plane of existence. There are other guides to include Native-American, Nurse, Nun, Doctor, Chemist and Joy to name a few. Old-timers, and say that with all due respect, believe in these. At first, like most, I was skeptical. Finally, one day while I was sitting in a brief meditation, I said fine show yourselves, and they lined up one by one in quick order. I loved it! When experiences happen, you have to believe. Spirit will keep coming back with signs until you do. As a medium, I have guides who assist with my public message work and various ones for private message work. We all do have guides. All we have to do is look for them, ask them to appear in your dreams. Believe they exist, and they will be more than happy to help. Look for the signs!
My office is in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. I love this place. It’s so peaceful and quiet. I’ve had the opportunity to reside in the Spiritualist Camp on many of occasions. I’ve waited for a long time for “things” to happen in this space. For the most part, it’s been my thought to just happily reside, coexist, with the Spirits. A couple of years ago I resided in a different space in the Spiritualist Camp when a friend of mine came to visit. I pointed out the kitchen floor between the bathroom and my bedroom, a heavily walked area. I asked, ‘Do you see those footprints that are like a size 15 shoe?’ She said she did. I said, ‘That’s one of the Spirits who resides here.’ She asked, ‘What’s his name?’ My response was ‘I have no idea. I just simply reside with them. I do not talk to them.’ That morning I went to the pastor’s breakfast. I left my friend behind. Upon my return, I saw she had mopped the kitchen floor. She said, ‘Joe was here and I asked him why? He said he was looking over you.’ I couldn’t believe she did that. ‘I told you I don’t talk to Spirits in this place.’ She laughed and so did I.
I waited patiently for someone to show themselves in my office, at times a place to sleep. One day I noticed my black heeled shoes were next to the bed, so I nudged them just under it. A few days later I went to get my shoes and one was gone. A fine time for Spirit to show up in my space. And ironic – my topic at church was to be “Overcoming Challenges.” I looked under that bed three times hoping that Spirit would bring back my shoe, to no avail. It’s not that big of a place. I looked frantically throughout it. I ended up wearing my black flip flops with bling. I made a short reference to this experience on my Facebook page Life in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp – Mayberry It Is. I had one response that this happens everywhere. I believe it to be true, especially for those who meditate on a daily basis. We meditators build our own portal of energy, which allows us to ultimately astral travel. Our souls/spirits leave our bodies at night when we go to sleep, and they return when we awaken. If you have not started your daily meditation practice yet, please do. I’ve been mediating since 2004, and for the first three years, I meditated same time, same place every day. I’ve had some amazing experiences that will be shared in my next book, “The Playground.” Lie down in your bed while meditating. We must be comfortable. Rest your arms at your side with palms up in receiving position. I like to have music in the background; nothing upbeat, no lyrics, or reoccurring threads. When you start thinking about what you should be doing other than meditating, place your focus on the Third Eye, the space between your eyebrows (a tiny bit above them), and your breathing – in and out. This should bring you back into the meditative state. If you only can meditate for five minutes the first day, good for you. Build on it each day. No worries if you fall asleep because your guides are still working with you and eventually you’ll be able to maintain the meditative state. Hope to hear about your experiences. By the way, it’s been months and my shoe still has not returned. Peace and Love.
