What to write about? Yes, it is Christmas. To me, Christmastime is about family, friends and helping others. Isn’t every day? Perhaps, because of who I am and what I do, it is the way.
Remember, I am a psychic medium and freelance writer – ultimately a powerful spiritual being, as we all are. About a month ago a woman called me on a Sunday morning. It was early, probably around 8:30 a.m. She stayed at Hotel Cassadaga and wanted a reading. After the reading, she saw my Angel Cards. She said she just called spontaneously and was happy she did. She picked a card and it read: ‘spontaneous.’ You cannot make this up! Backstory: I first spied those Angel Cards, which are a ¼ of an inch wide and an inch long, in my friend’s office in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp 20 years ago. I received a gift certificate for the bookstore recently, so I bought two Angel Cards boxes – one for myself and one for my daughter. And so just last week, I had a reading with a gentleman. One of the main messages to him was patience. He saw my cards and picked one. You guessed it – it read ‘patience.’ He slipped it in his pocket, flipped another card and said he wanted to be sure they all didn’t read ‘patience.’ I said put the card back. He did. A lot of times people come to see me because they miss their loved ones in the Spirit World, on the Higher Side of Life. One never knows who you’re going to meet in this walk of life. Backstory: My (Angel Cards) friend, mentor and all-around beautiful person was dying. We created her celebration of life service and I stayed with her for numerous days in the week before she passed. On one day, she was resting in her bedroom, and I had fallen asleep on the couch in the living room. The doorbell rang. I groggily made it to the window and saw an old beat-up vehicle in the driveway. At the door, I looked through the peephole and saw an elderly couple – the woman had a colorful turban on her head. I opened the door. They wanted to speak to my friend. I said that she wasn’t well, and then heard her from the bedroom to come and get her. I excused myself, leaving them at the outdoor entrance. Moments passed. I opened the door, and the women pulled a torn-out magazine article I had written on my friend 10 years earlier. I know our jaws had to drop. The article was about her spiritual/metaphysical center. The woman and her husband were on a journey looking for a spiritual center, so we ended up sending them to Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. After a few minutes, we said our goodbyes and they left. As my friend and I turned away from the door and made our way to living room, she said: ‘One never knows how Jesus will appear.’ Profound!

I have been to the beach twice in the past two days. It’s my go-to place when I need to just be. I walked in the chilly water about a ¼ of the way up my calves, which is to build my immunity, according to one of holistic healing friends. It works for me.
The first day at the beach it seemed the fog wanted to roll in. I saw the sunlight coming up behind it, so I knew it wouldn’t be a flash fog of the entire area. Backstory: I headed to the beach on a beautiful sunny day years ago and when I got there, the fog rolled completely in. It was surreal. It was like a scary movie was about to happen. I could see about 30 feet in front of me. The temperature dropped. It was a good thing I had my sweat jacket in the car. Amazing experience! The fog made me wonder what was inside of it or what was on the other side of it. And then it made me think about how some people in the world have become fogged – like a surreal dream. Being who I AM, I had to look up the spiritual meaning of fog. I found that fog is about mysteriousness, obscurity – makes sense. In the Bible, fog precedes great revelations. Another noted, it is the gray zone between reality and unreality, and uncertainty about the future and beyond. Yet another, approaching death. Speaking of signs, vultures happen to be one of my animal totems. For several weeks I have been seeing circling vultures – once, three times in a day. We all know what I thought the first time I saw it. Yikes! I finally looked it up and spiritually it means changes. Of course, it was noted that left-brained people think circling vultures have found a pocket of air just right for soaring. LOL. Before I headed to the beach the second day, two deer jumped out in front of my car in the Spiritualist Camp. When I looked it up, my personal message: ‘New adventures await you as the way is now clear. You are being gently nudged through this door.’ There was no fog at the beach that day. My go-to site for animal totems: https://www.spirit-animals.com. I also like Animal Speaks by Ted Andrews and Medicine Cards: The Discovery of Power Through the Ways of Animals by Jamie Sams and David Carson. One of the realities of my fog is that yes, I love you, Florida and the beach days are great, but we are in the midst of winter. Blessings of Peace and Love! I cannot even believe I am saying this about the road construction going on in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. The roadways are being milled and resurfaced. Exciting times!
Yes, it’s a little noisy and a little chaotic, which way should I go to get out? A car wash is def on the agenda this morning. Peace and quietude will reign on the weekends, which works since it’s our busiest times. The job should take about a month to complete. Turns out it’s been at least 35 to 40 years since these roads have had a makeover. Just the thought of anew brings great energy to the area. Change doesn’t always have to bring chaos, although sometimes chaos is needed to make the change. Backstory: While I worked as a staff writer for a newspaper, I wrote all kinds of stories about road construction. Ugh. My editor always asked me, ‘Why do you see the construction in a negative way? Think of the results.’ And here I am today doing just that. Will my mind change about the construction? Maybe a couple of times, but I will remember the good it brings to the community and ultimately the tens of thousands who visit it yearly. One of my friends on Facebook suggested I walk along the roads to see what might turn up. There could be some interesting finds since the Camp has been here since 1894. Another suggested the energy from long ago, deep in the roads could bring about even more amazing energy. The buzz around it is uplifting. Change is good. Check out my Facebook Page: Life in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp - Mayberry It Is. There’s some of photos of the construction. Remember, change is bliss in the long run. Go with the flow! Peace Healing is the highest form of mediumship. Yes, mediums heal, but healers are a conduit of the healing energies. Healers allow the energies to flow through them to the recipient for body/mind/spirit healing. We healers have faith that the healing needed will take place, maybe not when we think it should but in Divine Order. Incidentally, I am also a Reiki Practitioner Level II and Arcing Light Teacher.
Backstory: Shortly after becoming a Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Certified Healer, I didn’t realize to offer a hands-on healing session to a client who received a reading. It didn’t occur to me because I had been doing readings for nearly four years and just started healing. I found the woman in the parking lot and asked if she wanted to come back to my office for a healing. She said next time. Since then, I have had a couple of other appointments. I sit and talk with the client about what healing is and how it works. Then, I tell them where I will be placing my hands – on the shoulders, fingertips touching the temples and the rest of my hand covering the ears and hands hovering over the crown chakra. During this healing, I could feel my third eye opening. I thought it to be odd since I was always told that giving messages during a healing was a no-no. I went with the flow. Next thing I knew a woman came to me. I heard the words ‘mother’ and ‘spine.’ After the healing, I sat with the client for a few minutes. We talked of a couple of books about so-called death that I like to recommend – ‘The Blue Island,’ which is a free PDF online, and ‘The Afterlife of Billy Fingers: How My Bad-Boy Brother Proved to Me There’s Life After Death.’ I finally asked if it was OK to share the person who came to me in Spirit. He said it would be fine. I described the woman, which was his mother. She had a spine condition. I was so amazed. You know, they say we can heal ourselves. All we must do is ask for it, receive it and believe it. At night before you go to bed, say a little prayer asking for body/mind/spirit healing from the universe and put your hands on yourself. Finally, thank the universe for the healing when you awaken. Many Blessings of Healing! So be it! |
