I cannot even believe I am saying this about the road construction going on in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. The roadways are being milled and resurfaced. Exciting times!
Yes, it’s a little noisy and a little chaotic, which way should I go to get out? A car wash is def on the agenda this morning. Peace and quietude will reign on the weekends, which works since it’s our busiest times. The job should take about a month to complete. Turns out it’s been at least 35 to 40 years since these roads have had a makeover. Just the thought of anew brings great energy to the area. Change doesn’t always have to bring chaos, although sometimes chaos is needed to make the change. Backstory: While I worked as a staff writer for a newspaper, I wrote all kinds of stories about road construction. Ugh. My editor always asked me, ‘Why do you see the construction in a negative way? Think of the results.’ And here I am today doing just that. Will my mind change about the construction? Maybe a couple of times, but I will remember the good it brings to the community and ultimately the tens of thousands who visit it yearly. One of my friends on Facebook suggested I walk along the roads to see what might turn up. There could be some interesting finds since the Camp has been here since 1894. Another suggested the energy from long ago, deep in the roads could bring about even more amazing energy. The buzz around it is uplifting. Change is good. Check out my Facebook Page: Life in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp - Mayberry It Is. There’s some of photos of the construction. Remember, change is bliss in the long run. Go with the flow! Peace
