Stop having them – easier said than done. I get it.
Yes, we could talk about the expectations we put on others, and I do that at times. It’s because I have standards and expect everyone else to live up to them. Does this sound familiar? This is not how life works, although there is somewhat of a Law of Attraction at play here – on some level we should be attracting our tribe; however, the attraction could be something completely different than what is intended. When I say stop having expectations, I truly mean expectations of self. Like most lightworkers, I want to help everyone I come in contact with, which can be unrealistic, setting myself up for failure. We just want to help others and we sometimes forget about ourselves. Stop putting that pressure on yourself. Let’s not forget about those daily expectations – we get up and brush our teeth, get ready for the day, which we are expecting our hair to be fabulous, but maybe it’s not a great hair day. The other day I expected to take Interstate 4 to Altamonte Springs and be back home before my noon phone reading. I had plenty of time. As I’m tooling down the road, I see four firetrucks and other emergency vehicles on the other side of the Interstate, and then miles of traffic which eventually reached the St. Johns River Veterans Memorial Bridge. I had to travel that road on the way back. I thought I could do the reading in my car if need be. Thankfully, I was able to get off an exit before the bridge and I did make it home with five minutes to spare. I’m not saying to not have standards or certain expectations. I’m saying give yourself the break or grace that you give others when situations don’t play out the way you thought they would. And so when I look at the art with this blog (See photo on Facebook Page: Life in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp – Mayberry It Is), I expect for that flower to open and be magnificent – a source of food, a source that brings smiles to those who see and smell it as it blooms. Will it happen? Maybe, maybe not. We can always hope, hope is a lighter vibration, less stinging than expectations can be. Take care of you. Blessing of Peace and Love
