Intention is Everything!

When you’re a writer, anything and everything is up for grabs.

Interesting enough I haven’t written extensively in this blog about vultures. I know I have talked about them several times on my YouTube Channel, From the Ethers. For months, I have seen circling vultures. The first time I saw them I was like, ‘Circling vultures, oh no.’ Then I kept seeing them everywhere, sometimes two to three sightings in one day. I finally looked it up and it means change is coming. What a relief. Change is good.

One time I sat on my porch to eat lunch and I noticed the medium next door was enjoying the outdoors too. I said something about the circling vultures that began to appear since I came out. She agreed they weren’t around until I showed up. I wondered if I was calling them in.

Here in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp there are at least 50 vultures who hang out. I’m not sure when they started coming, but now there’s a flock, also known as a committee, venue, or volt.

About a month after chatting with my next-door neighbor, another neighbor from down the street pulled her vehicle to the side of the road as I walked. She shared about the vultures pooping on her brand-new roof. She was not pleased. I consoled. Later it again occurred to me that I might be calling them in. Yikes!

To the skeptic, there’s always an answer for everything. There’s a colony of cats across the street from Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. They wander everywhere. These cats get fed twice daily at regular stations. I recall that sandhill cranes came around to eat the food. I don’t see as many now, which is good according to one of the feeders because they weren’t so nice to the cats. So now it’s the vultures. I can’t imagine there being enough food for both the cats and vultures.  

I discussed the poop issue with my next-door neighbor. She said her thought is that vultures who come around homes are protecting those homes. I like the idea of a committee of vultures protecting our Camp. Perhaps, looking at it in another way may help my neighbor down the street. I wonder if she has had a nice, productive conversation with those vultures to stop pooping on her roof.
