Let There Be Light

There’s always another side to it, not to bring in the obvious. . .

I have silver insulation lining my windows these days. When they first went up, I was excited to keep the cold out, still am. In fact, I thought it to be a bonus to assist with keeping unwanted energy out. I was relieved for the added protection.

I’ve been residing in an apartment building that came about in 1896. No insulation. People chuckle when I say I’m freezing since I’m in Florida. It’s a wet cold is all I can say. This is like my sixth or seventh winter in this place. I asked the landlords to weatherproof. They did.

There’s also no central air or heat. I do have an awesome plug-in heater or two and two air conditioners. I am thankful and grateful. The cooling system seems to be much easier on the pocketbook.

The first winter was brutal.

Backstory: I had two heaters running 24/7 for days and it was barely warm. I noticed the windows had 2-inch spaces, allowing the outside coldness to come in. I stuffed old towels in the spaces. My electrical bill was like $120.

We’ve been what I consider cold for a good four or five weeks straight, not just one or two days here and there. It started in December. My electric bill was $75, which was considerably less than a neighbor’s who does not have insulated windows and is smaller.

The downside: There’s no sunlight in my place unless the doors are open. Is that a bad thing? Yes and no. It’s a little depressing. I thought about taking them down the other day because we’re in a stretch of warmer weather. Choices? Winter will be over soon.

Seems kind of mundane, my life as a Spiritualist psychic medium, healer and teacher. Perhaps, this is the point of the blog. I’m just like you. My gifts may be different than yours. I’m a spirit having a human experience. We all are.

The upside: The quietude and containment of my energy along with those who are with me in the Spirit world. I’ve been doing a bit of channeling with a couple of friends once weekly, too. Exiting times!

Bottom line: Light comes from within, and I will spread mine everywhere I go including my living space.
