Wait for It! (LOL)

‘You are not going to believe this’ was my go-to line when something big happened that was out of the ordinary. A smile would crossover my bestie’s face that would tell me, ‘Oh yes, yes I will.’

The other night I was sleeping in my Harmony Hall backroom at Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. It had to be about midnight. I distinctly heard footsteps in the apartment above me. It was odd because the people who rent the space are generally only there on the weekends. I sent a text to one person to see if the women were still here. That person didn’t know, so I sent another text to one of the renters. No response. I turned my air conditioner on, so I could no longer hear it.

The next morning, bright and early, I got a response from the text. ‘No.’ I called my neighbor pronto and shared my story. She said there had been some activity in her place – historic tour guide pins missing and the blinds in the bathroom were always different from when they left. One time the blinds were pulled totally to the top. Could this be Spirit activity? Now mind you I have had plenty in my place.

Backstory: Several times items have disappeared from my place – a high-heeled shoe and fire extinguisher to name a couple. Months later both items came back. With the latter, one of the maintenance men refused to come back to my place for six months. It freaked him out so. My crystals and candles on my dresser top are consistently on the move. And one time a Spirit touched my back. I said, ‘Get out.’ You gotta draw the line somewhere. No touching.

While sharing my story with the neighbor, I recalled hearing footsteps on other occasions. I decided to take the information to the office. After some discussion, it was decided upon – wait for it – that I call 911 the next time I heard footsteps above me. I rolled with laughter.

Can you imagine a psychic medium in Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp, which has had mediums in its space since 1894, calling the police to report possible phenomena? LOL. They’d be laughing for years to come, as would I.
